Proposing to your girlfriend is, if you are truly lucky something that you'll have to do only once! So it's imperative you don't mess up!

1. Make it personal! There's no excuse for carbon copying a plan from somewhere else, particularly as the both of you should have a lot of joint experiences! So you understand accurately what she likes!

5. Defend the ring! Never risk burying it in sand or giving it to the wine waiter to serve up for desert as some type of intricate proposal!
6. Go down on one knee! True, it's aged and unoriginal but your lady always expected her proposal would be like that, so don't let her down!
7. Live out! You'll feel ridiculous doing it, but ensure you do and I mean in front of the mirror and your Dog! If not, she'll be telling all her mates how you ruined the most important words in both your lives!
8. Go for a quixotic locale over grand and plentiful! It's all about the little things; the music, candles, flowers, lighting and food!
9. If you're planning on getting wedded hastily, then propose to your girlfriend in the winter and point toward for a spring wedding! Otherwise propose in the spring and you'll have a full year to put in order!
