All The History About Bonsai Plants


With the increasing popularity in growing beginner bonsai trees, bonsai beginners need to get their arms around the history of bonsai. The history of bonsai decoration is already more than 1000 years old. In the olden times, this process was called "Punsai" which meant the practice of planting single specimen trees in mugs. Records tell us that China and Japan have been the first countries that started this art of planting flowers in boxes. Later on, the craft of growing bonsai trees were introduced to other continents like Europe and America.

The Making Of Small Plants In China.

According to the legends, China's emperor during the Han Dynasty wanted to build a distinguished court that had the hills, lakes, rivers, valleys and plants that can be found within his vast territory. To cheer the Emperor, his royal subjects grew small-scale trees to fit into the structure of the courtyard. Since then, the bonsai tree was meant as a esteemed furniture for all people in the kingdom for several generations.

Not many can actually tell whether or not there is any truth to the legend but this is for sure, the process of creating tiny trees happens to be one of China's gifts to the world.

Bonsai Creating In Japan

Along with the Chinese, the Japanese people left an effect on the skill of preparing mini trees. The skill of decorating pocket-sized plants was told to the Japanese monks around the Japanese Heian period from 794 to 1191. The Zen Buddhist initiated planting bonsai plants in their monasteries by adopting the modes employed by the Chinese. So many people visited the monasteries and were overwhelmed by the baby-sized trees. Soon afterward, different people belonging to the royal ancestry began to cultivate bonsai plants in their homes, making the bonsai plant a symbol of respect and prestige in the Japanese community.
